Host/hostess

Job Summary: The Host or Hostess is responsible for greeting and escorting guests to tables in the restaurant, maintaining a courteous and efficient operation of the dining room to ensure guest satisfaction. Key Responsibilities: · Greeting customers as they arrive, escorting them to their tables, and ensuring they are comfortably seated and present menu. · Build strong relationships with guests, anticipate their needs, and confidently recommend beverages, menu items, and upselling opportunities. · Read, maintain and make daily entries in the logbook to coordinate communication between shifts and management. · Receive records and make any necessary arrangements for reservations and special functions in the restaurant. · Ensure that tables and dining areas are clean and organized and assist in cleaning up after guest leaves. · Handle guest inquiries, feedback, and concerns promptly and professionally, ensuring timely resolution. · Support special events and functions by conducting operational checks and ensuring all service requirements are met. · Participate actively in training sessions, team meetings, and continuous learning initiatives to enhance product knowledge and service standards. · Ensure security and confidentiality of all guest and hotel information. · Maintain full knowledge of hotel safety and emergency procedures. · Ensure compliance with all Aimbridge policies, brand standards and local operating procedures (SOPs and LSOPs). · Perform other duties as assigned by your immediate manager. Requirements · High school diploma, or equivalent. · 1-2 years’ experience as a host/hostess in food and beverages, restaurant/bar operations or hospitality is preferred. · Valid food handling certificate. • Basic knowledge of food safety, hygiene and sanitation practices. • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. • Strong customer service orientation. • Ability to multi-task and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. • Positive attitude with a team-oriented approach. • Attention to detail and high level of integrity. • Ability to stand and move at a fast pace for long periods of time.
